Technology Literacy

    How can students become technology literate while learning language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and fine arts? Embed this curriculum in middle school courses to address NETS•S standards in active, hands-on extended projects that cross three grade levels.

    Describe with Technology

    In the first two projects of Technology Literacy, students research complex topics, write narrative essays, collect and analyze data to think critically about their topics, and produce publications.

    Explain with Technology

    In the second two projects of Technology Literacy, students research complex topics, write expository essays to explain their topics, collect and analyze data to make decisions, and deliver multimedia presentations to explain their decisions.

    Persuade with Technology

    In the final two projects of Technology Literacy, students research complex topics, write persuasive essays to support their positions, collect and analyze data to solve problems, and choose appropriate technologies to communicate their solutions.
