Intel International Science and Engineering Fair
A program of Society for Science & the Public
The Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, a program of Society for Science & the Public, is the world's largest pre-college science fair competition. Each year, more than 6 million young scientists from around the world vie to attend and 1,500 are selected as finalists to share ideas, showcase cutting edge ideas and compete for over USD 4 million in awards and scholarships. To judge the projects, more than 1,000 science, engineering, and industry professionals volunteer at the Intel ISEF.
Rewarding Scientific Discovery and Innovation
At Intel ISEF, students are encouraged to tackle challenging scientific questions using authentic research practices to create solutions to the problems of tomorrow.
- Gordon E Moore Award: The top Best in category winner will receive USD 75,000
- Intel Foundation Young Scientists (Two students) USD 50,000 each
- Nobel Prize Ceremony Trip (Three top seniors)
- Intel ISEF grand Awards (The Intel ISEF has 17 scientific categories and two team project
categories, divided into life and physical sciences. Students must select a category,
and they are judged specifically in that category):
- 1st — USD 3,000
- 2nd — USD 1,500
- 3rd — USD 1,000
- 4th — USD 500
- Each category also has an Intel “Best of Category” winner who receives an additional USD 5,000
- Each “Best of Category” winner’s school and the Intel ISEF affiliated fair also receives USD 1,000
